Queen of the South fans have been asked to help find ways to raise funds for the club

A meeting for fans has been held to look at ways to help Queen of the South football club cope with "severe pressure" on its finances.

The Dumfries side has suffered a string of match postponements due to bad weather resulting in a loss of income.

The club itself has not put a figure on how much money it needs to help address the situation.

However, concerned supporters have organised a Save Our South campaign to look at ways to help raise funds.

Chairman David Rae recently admitted the club could be forced to go part-time but said he did not believe it was at risk of going into administration.

The Palmerston Park outfit had its first home league match since 13 November on Tuesday night.

That clash with Ross County had to be abandoned shortly after half time due to electricity problems within the ground.

Supporters met in Locharbriggs Community Centre to discuss ways to help the club.

Organiser Ross Corbett urged as many fans as possible to attend.
