Rumer Godden's Dumfriesshire country home up for sale

Rumer Godden lived the last years of her life at Ardnacloich in Dumfries and Galloway
The Scottish country house where author Rumer Godden spent the last 20 years of her life has gone on the market.
Ardnacloich, near the village of Moniaive in Dumfriesshire, has an asking price of £638,000.
The author, who published novels, biographies and children's books, is known for works including Black Narcissus and The Greengage Summer.
She was born in Eastbourne, in the south coast of England, and died in Scotland, aged 90, in 1998.
She moved to Scotland following the death of her husband in 1973, living with her daughter in Moniaive from 1978.
Godden enjoyed a successful and varied career in literature, publishing 70 books and works of poetry.
She was appointed an OBE in 1993.
One of the most notable films of her work was Jean Renoir's The River, based on the novel she had published in 1946.
