A decision could be delivered by the end of the year on a Scottish Borders wind farm application first submitted in 2004.

GreenPower wants to build eight turbines at Broadmeadows Farm in the Yarrow Valley.

Scottish Borders Council refused permission in June but the developers appealed against that decision.

A Scottish government reporter will now visit the site later this week with an outcome expected shortly after that.

When the proposals, for an area close to the Southern Upland Way, were first submitted they were for 13 turbines.

However, they were scaled back but were still unanimously rejected by councillors earlier this year.

It is now up to the Scottish government to give a final verdict on whether or not the scheme can proceed.
