Fallago Rig wind farm development sold

A wind farm development in the Borders which was the subject of a six-year opposition campaign has been sold before being brought into operation.
North British Windpower has sold its interest in the Fallago Rig scheme to EDF for an undisclosed sum.
Construction is currently under way on the 48-turbine Lammermuir Hills project, approved in November 2010.
Opponents admitted defeat last year when a Court of Session ruling rejected their bid to force a judicial review.
The Say No To Fallago action group admitted at that point it was the "end of the line" for their high-profile protest.
EDF has been investing in wind farms for about a year and already owns another site in the Borders, the Longpark development near Stow.
Once completed, the Fallago Rig scheme is expected to provide enough energy to meet the power needs of about 90,000 homes.
