The training pool at a flagship leisure centre in south west Scotland has reopened after more than five months.

The facility at the DG One complex in Dumfries was shut on 15 May due to issues with its moveable floor.

It is the latest in a string of such closures to affect the multi-million pound centre since it opened to the public in 2008.

The training pool offers a range of activities including swimming lessons for youngsters and public swimming.

A Freedom of Information request earlier this year showed the scale of the problems suffered by the centre.

It has now had one of its main facilities out of commission for a total of nearly 300 days since it opened.
