Stranraer schools shut by wintry weather
- Published
Hundreds of pupils have been sent home in Dumfries and Galloway as wintry weather started to affect the west of the region.
Park Primary in Stranraer was the first school to make the decision to shut for the day.
It was followed by the town's secondary school - Stranraer Academy - which closed at lunchtime, and then St Joseph's, Rephad and Sheuchan Primary.
All the schools were expected to reopen as usual on Monday.
