Closeburn sheep farm raiders strike twice

Police are investigating the theft of 78 sheep worth more than £14,000 in two raids on farmland in southern Scotland.

In the first incident, at land near High Mains just north of Loch Ettrick at Closeburn, some 49 animals were taken in mid-February.

Another 29 sheep were then taken sometime between Monday and Tuesday.

The sheep are all in lamb and are North of England Mule breed. They are microchipped and tagged and have brown faces and legs.
