Borders General Hospital ambulance base site visit planned

A site visit is to take place as part of the appeal over rejected plans to site a new ambulance depot near Borders General Hospital.

The £1.8m Scottish Ambulance Service project - which it says would improve response times - was rejected late last year due to landscape concerns.

An appeal was lodged and a Scottish government reporter will visit the site on Tuesday.

A final decision is expected on the plans by the end of April.
