A72 road reopens at Dirtpot corner following landslip

The road had to shut for a time after the landslip but has reopened

The A72 Innerleithen to Peebles road has reopened under traffic controls after being closed by a landslip.

The route had to be closed at Dirtpot corner after a few tonnes of stones and soil fell on the roadway at about midnight on Thursday.

Diversions were put in place for a time before controls enabled traffic to use the road again.

Scottish Borders Council said the incident had happened in an area which had not previously suffered landslips.
