Infinergy eyes three Dumfries and Galloway wind farm sites

A renewable energy firm is preparing planning applications for three separate wind farm sites in Dumfries and Galloway.

Infinergy could build a total of 77 turbines at Shepherds' Rig near Carsphairn, Stroanshalloch near Moniaive and Marnhoul near Corsock.

It said the schemes would represent an investment of £180m.

The plans are part of wider Infinergy investment across Scotland, which has seen it move offices in Inverness.

Project manager Fiona Milligan said: "Infinergy is in the initial stages of preparing planning applications for wind farm developments on all three sites."

It believes Shepherds' Rig could host 45 turbines, with 16 at each of the other two sites.

The company has also moved its Inverness offices to a city centre site in order to aid further expansion and benefit from better broadband facilities.
