Queen of the South fans have seen their team play on the grass at Palmerston Park for the last time before it is replaced with an artificial surface.

The Dumfries side played East Fife on Saturday before the turf is replaced at their stadium.

Slices of the pitch are being sold off to supporters who want a memento of the playing surface.

It has been a memorable season for the team, who have won both the Second Division and Ramsdens Cup.

The club had been hoping for a bumper crowd at the game, when the players were due to parade the league trophy.
