DG One contractor to be appointed in 'near future'

A contractor will be appointed in the "near future" to carry out remedial works at a beleaguered Dumfries leisure centre, according to the local council.
DG One has been dogged by a string of problems since it opened in 2008.
Dumfries and Galloway Council shut the facility in October last year to allow extensive repairs to be carried out.
In a private briefing to councillors on Thursday it was revealed that the council is close to the end of the tendering process.
They also received an update on the legal case against Kier Construction, the contractors which built the complex.
The local authority is seeking compensation from the firm.
Relevant legislation
A spokesman said: "Councillors were also provided with an update on the tendering process for the remedial works.
"The tendering process is to appoint a contractor to carry out the required remedial works on DG One.
"The council has to comply with relevant procurement legislation in doing so.
"This process is still ongoing, but it is anticipated that a contractor for the remedial works will be appointed in the near future."
The costs of the repairs are estimated at between £6m and £10m.
Previously a spokesman for Kier Construction said the investigation into the leisure centre was ongoing and technical experts are yet to be concluded.
They added: "It would therefore be inappropriate for us to comment further at this time."
