Consultation on closure of Drochduil Primary School

Plans have been drawn up to close a Wigtownshire primary school at the end of this academic year.
Just three children go to Drochduil Primary School, external, which serves the village of Dunragit, near Stranraer.
Councillors have been told that a review of the demographics of the area suggests there is will be no demand for the school in the future.
They have been asked to agree to a statutory consultation on plans to close the primary school.
The remaining children at Drochduil will transfer to another school in July 2016, according to a report to Dumfries and Galloway Council's education committee, external.
It means there will be no pupils at the school in the 2016/17 academic year unless there are new enrolments.
Earlier this week the education authority recommended the closure of St Peter's Primary in Dalbeattie, which has a roll of seven pupils.
