Festival organisers said they were "absolutely ecstatic" to bring the Bay City Rollers to Dumfries

Scottish 1970s boy band the Bay City Rollers have joined the line-up for next year's Big Burns Supper festival.

The group - who announced their reunion earlier this year - will play the Spiegeltent in Dumfries on 23 January.

Festival artistic director Graham Main said it would be a chance for fans to "sing along with some of the catchiest songs of the Seventies".

Black Grape, Eddi Reader, The Beat and comedian Jason Byrne will also appear at the event from 22 to 30 January.

"We're absolutely ecstatic to be welcoming Les McKeown and the Bay City Rollers to Dumfries," said Mr Main.

"It's our festival's fifth birthday and we thought it would be great to celebrate with a bit of Rollermania.

"For those who remember them the first time round, it will bring back so many fantastic memories. And for those who weren't there at the time it's a chance to have some real fun getting a taste of what made Scotland bop in the Seventies."
