Hundreds of sheep reported stolen near Moffat

Police have appealed for information after about 450 Cheviot sheep, worth £60,000, were reported stolen from a hill farm in the Moffat area.
They are believed to have been taken some time between 10:00 on Sunday and 10:30 on Monday.
Police said "large vehicles" would have been needed to remove the animals.
Anyone who saw livestock vehicles in the area, or the arrival of a large flock on nearby farmland, has been asked to contact police.
Police said the sheep were on grazing land covering thousands of acres.
Officers want to speak to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the 24 hours after 17:00 on Sunday.
Det Insp Scott Young said: "The theft of such a large amount of sheep would have required careful planning and obviously there must have been vehicles used.
"The grazing land the sheep were on covers several thousand acres north of the A708 Moffat to Selkirk road near to Greymares Tail in Moffat.
"I would urge anyone who saw anybody acting suspiciously in this area between the times stated, or anyone with information that may assist our police investigation to contact Dumfries police office."
