Two die in separate crashes in south of Scotland

Two people have died in separate crashes in the south of Scotland.
Patricia Kim Common, 61, from Yeovil in Somerset, was killed in a crash on the A968 Kelso to Hawick road, near Heiton in the Scottish Borders on Saturday.
And a 34-year-old man died in a crash on the A709 Dumfries to Lockerbie road, near Dryfesdale Cemetery, Lockerbie, in the early hours of Sunday.
Police have appealed to anyone with information or dashcam footage relating to either crash to contact them, external.
The Kelso crash, which happened at 12:50 on Saturday, involved Ms Common's white Volkswagen Up and a black Volvo XC40. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 44-year-old Volvo driver was taken to Borders General Hospital where he is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The Lockerbie crash, involving a black Vauxhall Corsa, happened at about 03:40 on Sunday. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road was closed while officers worked at the scene and reopened at about 11:20.
