Man rescued after ravine plunge

A man has been airlifted to hospital after his vehicle plunged into a ravine and became trapped in a burn.

The 36-year-old was driving an all-terrain vehicle near Glenlyon House in Perthshire when the accident happened at about 0900 BST.

He was eventually winched to safety by a crew from HMS Gannet in Prestwick.

A spokesman for Tayside Police said the man was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee suffering from back injuries. His condition is not life-threatening.
