Two men have been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after falling about 60ft (18m) down cliffs in Angus.
The men hit the beach at Lunan Bay, south of Montrose, at about 1830 BST on Wednesday, after one man tried to grab the other as he fell.
An RAF rescue helicopter was scrambled from Lossiemouth and airlifted them to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.
One man, aged 32, suffered severe neck and spinal injuries, while the other, aged 41, broke several ribs.
Forth Coastguard, who co-ordinated the rescue, said that Montrose and Stonehaven coastguard rescue teams and the Montrose all-weather lifeboat also went to the scene.
A coastguard spokesman said they were "lucky" to land on sand.
