Diver airlifted to hospital after Angus coast rescue

A diver has been airlifted to hospital in Aberdeen after getting into difficulties off the Angus coast.

The man was one of four people taking part in a wreck dive 10 miles offshore from Montrose.

Tha alarm was raised at about 1320 BST after he surfaced unconscious. He was revived by his boat's crew before being picked up by an RAF rescue helicopter from Lossiemouth.

The man was taken to the decompression chamber at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

The Montrose lifeboat was also scrambled to the scene.

His condition is not believed to be life threatening.
