More Dundee arrests over Facebook 'riot' messages

Three more teenagers are to appear in court accused of attempting to incite people to riot in a Scottish city.

Shawn Divin, 16, Jordan McGinley, 18, and a 14-year-old boy are alleged to have set up a Facebook page encouraging others to go on the rampage in Dundee.

The older pair were refused bail and kept in custody, but the 14-year-old was allowed away, Tayside Police said.

Their arrests come the day after two Scottish teenagers were charged for similar but unconnected offences.

Eighteen-year-old Liam Allan appeared in court in Dundee and Alexander McQuarrie, 16, was charged after a hearing in Glasgow.

Both the teenagers were denied bail and remanded in custody. Neither made a plea or declaration.

A spokeswoman for Tayside Police said the latest three to be arrested would appear in Dundee Sheriff Court on Friday.

The arrests come in the wake of violence and looting which spread through English towns and cities over four nights.
