Dundee's Albert Street reopens after huge void find

A busy Dundee road, closed following the discovery of an underground void the size of a double-decker bus, has been reopened.
Albert Street was shut after a bus driver discovered a deep pothole on 29 September. Engineers later uncovered a massive void beneath the thoroughfare.
The large hole is believed to have been caused by three small leaks on a four-inch water pipe.
Scottish Water have laid a thick concrete slab over the void.
A spokesman for the utility company said: "Working alongside Dundee City Council Roads Department, Scottish Water contractors completed the reinstatement of Albert Street.
"Repairs have been made to three small leaks identified on a four-inch water pipe.
"Due to the nature of the road in this area, it was necessary to lay a thick concrete slab as part of this reconstruction work. This took a couple of days to set."
Dundee West MSP Joe FitzPatrick said: "This will bring relief to local traders who had contacted us concerned at access issues and loss of trading during the past week.
"Albert Street is an essential thoroughfare for pedestrians, motorists and local business and its closure was a considerable inconvenience to the local community."
