Police have said they are extremely concerned about a young man who went missing after a night out in Stirling.

David O'Halloran, 18, was last seen in the early hours of Friday morning. It is believed he planned to return to his accommodation at Stirling University.

A taxi driver who officers were keen to speak to has now been traced.

A new sighting of the 18-year-old has also been confirmed, walking from the Causewayhead Roundabout along Airthry Road between 01:00 and 02:00 on Friday.

Ch Insp Gordon Dawson said: "We are keen to speak to anybody who may have been in this area and who saw David walking along the road.

"In particular we are keen to speak to a group of people who were seen to be walking towards the university.

"This is completely out of character for David to go missing and we are extremely concerned for him as he was not dressed for the weather we are experiencing."

David is described as being 5ft 5in tall, of slim build and has brown hair, with blond highlights, which is short at the back and longer on top.

He was wearing a white t-shirt with a black and green checked shirt on top. He was also wearing black slim-fit jeans and black trainers.
