Two in court after dog bites young girl in Kirriemuir

A couple have appeared in court after a young girl was bitten by a dog in Kirriemuir.
The two-year-old was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee with facial injuries following the incident in the Glamis Road area of the Angus town on Friday.
John and Elaine Towns, aged 45 and 38, appeared at Forfar Sheriff Court accused of owning or being in charge of the Staffordshire bull terrier.
Both also face a charge of being concerned in the supply of drugs.
Neither made any plea or declaration during the hearing, and their cases were continued for further examination.
John Towns was remanded in custody ahead of a further hearing, while Elaine Towns was released on bail.
