The council proposes demolishing the old Westbank Clinic building to make way for their new headquarters

Falkirk Council has lodged a planning application for new headquarters.

The local authority has submitted plans for a new building on the site of the former Westbank Clinic on West Bridge Street.

The £20m project would see the clinic demolished and the new building erected in its place.

The council said the proposed building had been reduced in height in response to concerns raised during public consultations.

He said the "high quality yet functional design" would "complement the architecture in this part of the town centre".

It is expected that councillors will consider the application in early 2016 after the formal process has been progressed.
