Police identify man found dead at Tillicoultry quarry

Police have identified a man who was found dead at a quarry in Clackmannanshire on Saturday.

Officers appealed for help to identify the man, who was found with serious injuries at the quarry near Tillicoultry after reports of concern for a man.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.

Police Scotland confirmed on Monday that they now knew who the man was.

Insp David Bellingham, of Stirling Police Station, said: "We have now been able to identify this man and our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time.

"I'd like to thank the public for assisting with our inquiries."
