Person dies after being struck by train at Aberdeen

A person has died after being hit by a train on the line between Montrose and Aberdeen.

British Transport Police said officers were called to the line at Aberdeen at 05:31 after reports of a casualty on the tracks.

A spokeswoman said paramedics also attended, but the person died at the scene, and the incident is not being treated as suspicious.

The line was closed for several hours as a result of the incident.
