Additional £100,000 aid for flood-hit Angus families

The Scottish government has announced a further £100,000 in aid for Angus families affected by Storm Babet.
People in flood-hit council areas can also apply for £1,500 grants to repair damage to their homes from the storm, while businesses can claim £3,000.
Councils will accept applications for the grants from Monday and will begin distributing funding next week.
The announcement follows the second meeting of the Storm Babet Ministerial Taskforce.
Cabinet Secretary for Net Zero Màiri McAllan said there was no doubt people in the worst-affected areas were still "suffering hugely."
She said: "Many are worried about what the immediate future holds, and we acknowledge that for many the festive season is going to be challenging.
"We have made sure the scheme is as simple and fair as possible for people to apply to, and to give councils discretion so they can help as many people and businesses as possible."
The grants are in addition to the Scottish government's annual funding for flood risk management and coastal change adaptation over the course of this parliament.
Ms McAllan said previously that the funding would work alongside the Bellwin Scheme, a discretionary fund to help councils facing extra costs as a result of large-scale emergencies, as well as the Scottish Welfare Fund, and additional funds to farming businesses and organisations.
Angus Council said about 400 households had been affected by the flooding.
