Street sealed off after woman raped in Perth

Newhouse Place was sealed off by police on Sunday

Police in Perth are investigating the rape of woman in the Letham area of the city.

Officers were called to Newhouse Place at about 08:30 on Sunday following a report of a serious sexual assault.

Police sealed off the quiet cul-de-sac and erected two tents on the road as part of their investigation into the incident.

A large police presence of uniformed officers and detectives remained at the scene throughout the day.

Police Scotland said inquiries were continuing into the incident.
