A 43-year-old man has appeared in court accused of murdering another man in Dundee at the weekend.
Prosecutors allege Barry Murray, acting with others, forced entry to Steven Hutton's home before murdering him.
Officers were called to the scene on Charleston Road at about 23:00 on Saturday.
Mr Hutton, who was also 43, was taken to the city's Ninewells hospital but died on Sunday morning.
Mr Murray made no plea during a private hearing at Dundee Sheriff Court and was remanded in custody.
He is expected to appear in court again next week.
Detectives said inquiries into the incident were continuing and there would be a continued police presence in the area.
Det Insp Richard Baird said: "We are continuing to appeal to the public to get in touch with us, external with any information they have.
"I would urge anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to contact us."
