Friends of the Earth's concerns over Pembroke gas power station

The European Commission has launched an investigation into the UK government's approval of the Pembroke gas power station.

It follows a complaint made by Friends of the Earth Cymru that the plant's cooling system could have a damaging impact on marine life in the Cleddau estuary.

Friends of the Earth Cymru director Gareth Clubb told Oliver Hides of BBC Radio Wales he welcomed the intervention.
