Welsh assembly: Debate on political engagement

The Conservative leader in the Welsh assembly has called for an overhaul in the way assembly members carry out their jobs.

Andrew RT Davies has written to the presiding officer calling for a procedural review and demanding ways in which AMs can "engage more effectively with the people of Wales".

He also said there was a growing to increase the number of plenary sessions at the Senedd and greater scrutiny of the Welsh government should be allowed.

Mr Davies joined Richard Wyn Jones, director of the Wales Governance Centre at Cardiff University, to discuss ideas for improving political engagement with Vaughan Roderick of BBC Radio Wales.
