A co-founder of National Dance Company Wales has been suspended pending an inquiry into his behaviour.

The organisation says Roy Campbell-Moore has been suspended from his post as artistic associate following a complaint by other members of staff.

The matter is being investigated by an unnamed third party.

Founded in 1983 under the name Diversions, the company based at the Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff is currently on a spring tour.

Chairman Andrew Davies said in a statement: "Following a complaint by other members of staff against Roy Campbell-Moore, artistic associate of the company, the board of NDCWales appointed an independent third party to investigate this.

"Roy remains suspended from work with the company during the period of the enquiry and until the board has considered the investigator's report and has dealt with any recommendations in the report."

The news comes just weeks after Mr Campbell-Moore and his wife Ann Sholem, who founded the company with him, were presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the inaugural Theatre Critic of Wales Awards for their contribution to the arts in Wales.

NDCWales is also in the middle of a spring tour celebrating its 30th birthday.
