A Powys freight transport firm is set to create 20 jobs after announcing plans to build a new £150,000 depot.

Speed Welshpool will move to a 3.5-acre brownfield site at Buttington Quarry, near Welshpool, in September.

It is planning to invest in two storage buildings which will house 2,000 pallets and offer 40,000 sq ft of warehousing for local businesses.

The company currently employs 40 staff and the new jobs will take the total up to 60.

The firm specialises in carrying freight on pallets in the UK and Europe.
