Around 1,800 competitors from 40 countries tackled the Ironman Wales competition in Tenby. Scottish triathlete Scott Neyedli became the first Briton to win, pictured here on the big screen crossing the finish line on Tenby's Esplanade with a time of nine hours, nine minutes and 10 seconds.

The competitors tested their endurance with a 2.4m swim, a 112-mile bike ride and a 26-mile marathon. Road closures were in place around the course.
