A new public service ombudsman for Wales has been approved by the National Assembly.
Nick Bennett, group chief executive of Community Housing Cymru, external, which represents housing associations, was chosen from four candidates.
Mr Bennett said he wanted to ensure the office provided excellent advice for service users in Wales and help drive improvement in public services.
He will take over from Peter Tyndall who held the office since April 2008.
Mr Bennett will have legal powers to investigate complaints about public services in Wales such as councils and health boards.
