Operation Scorpion: Six held after drugs raids in north Wales

Six men have been arrested by North Wales Police as part of an operation which focuses on organised crime.

The men, aged in their early 20s and mid 30s, were arrested in Caernarfon in Gwynedd, Bodelwyddan in Denbighshire and in Manchester.

The have been held on suspicion of conspiracy to supply controlled dugs in Gwynedd and Anglesey.

Operation Scorpion aims to focus on a wide range of major crimes, including drugs and human trafficking.

Det Insp Arwyn Jones, who is leading the operation, said drugs were seized after a number of properties were searched while the arrests were carried out.

He said: "A number of the premises searched are in north Wales and so I'd like to thank the local community for their help and support and in particular their patience and cooperation whilst we conducted this operation and reassure them that tackling organised crime in their community remains our priority."
