£2m to help homeless and injured veterans in north Wales

More than £2m is being used to help veterans access housing and support services after leaving the armed forces.

The Veterans Accommodation Pathway project supports former soldiers who are sick, injured or homeless to adjust to civilian life and get jobs.

A total of £2.2m will be allocated to schemes in Wrexham, Flintshire and Ceredigion.

The project will be run by First Choice Housing Association based in Penarth.

The funding announced by the UK government will be paid for by the latest wave of money from UK banks in Libor fines.

It is the second project in Wales to receive funding this year after sight charities Blind Veterans UK and BLESMA received £1.25m to support blind and injured veterans near Llandundno in Conwy county.
