Nato 2014: Day one in pictures

World leaders have gathered for the 2014 Nato summit in Newport's Celtic Manor.

Before the event got under way, US President Barack Obama and Prime Minister David Cameron visited a school in the city.

There was a protest attended by around 500 people who marched through Newport to the Celtic Manor and handed a letter and a bouquet of flowers to officials.

The event is due to end on Friday.
