Sixty-five engineers hired in BT workforce expansion

BT has hired 65 new engineering personnel in Wales as part of its plans to expand its workforce.

It means an extra 255 BT engineers have been recruited since the spring.

The increase in staff is part of the company's campaign to hire 1,600 engineers across the UK.

Ann Beynon, BT Director for Wales, said: "For the second time in less than six months we are able to announce a boost to our engineering workforce in Wales."

New jobs were created by BT's local network business, Openreach in Abergavenny, Aberystwyth, Bangor, Blackwood, Blaenau Ffestiniog, Cardigan, Cardiff, Haverfordwest, Hereford, Newport, Newtown, Oswestry, Pembroke, Swansea and Wrexham.
