FAW boycotted BBC Wales Sports Personality 2015 awards

Wales' international football players, management and officials boycotted the BBC Wales Sports Personality of the Year Awards, it has emerged.

The FAW pulled out of Monday night's ceremony.

The decision followed a story about a dispute between the FAW and its players over a bonus payment for qualifying for Euro 2016.

It meant nobody from Chris Coleman's squad attended the event in Cardiff to collect the Team of the Year award.

The FAW declined to comment.

Instead, former players John Hartson and Iwan Roberts accepted it on their behalf.

In a statement the BBC said: "Unfortunately the FAW decided not to attend last night's event."
