Travel disruption possible after 'be aware' ice warning

A yellow "be aware" warning of ice has been issued across Wales.

Temperatures will "fall sharply" on Friday evening, allowing icy patches to form on untreated surfaces, including footpaths and cycleways, according to the Met Office.

The warning is in place until 10:00 GMT on Saturday.

The Met Office urged people to "be aware of the potential for difficult travel conditions".

Higher ground in Wales has seen snow fall

A warning for snow across Wales has now been removed.

On Friday morning, hazardous conditions were reported on the A469 Caerphilly Mountain Road between King Edward Avenue/St Martin's Road, in Caerphilly, and Capel Gwilym Road, in Thornhill, Cardiff.

Motorists were also warned to use caution when approaching the A465 Heads Of The Valleys Road between A4060/ High Street, Dowlais, in Merthyr Tydfil, and the A40 Monmouth Road/A4042 at Hardwick Roundabout.

Snow and ice caused widespread problems on Thursday, with a number of road closures and accidents.
