Storm Angus: Flooding as wind and rain hits Wales

Heavy rain and wind brought by Storm Angus saw flooding in areas of Wales early on Sunday morning.

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service received 133 flood-related calls between 01:30 GMT and 07:20.

Flood warnings remain in place for the Vale of Glamorgan, Cardiff and Bridgend county.

The Met Office has also issued a yellow "be aware" weather warning for the whole of Wales for Monday.

Up to 60 mm of rainfall is possible during Monday, as well as "localised flooding and disruption to transport."

The M48 Severn Bridge was also closed for several hours due to high winds.

The railway line between Cardiff Airport and Bridgend had been closed due to flood water, but reopened early afternoon.

Fire crews received calls about 47 incidents of flooding in Maesteg, 17 in Pencoed, 10 in Pontycymer and eight in Bridgend on Sunday.

In Newbridge, Caerphilly county, a car got stuck in standing water.

Two women and a dog were rescued from a flooded house in Boverton, Vale of Glamorgan, after a nearby river burst its banks.

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said the number of flood-related incidents had reduced during the day.

But they received a report of a flooded road at Bryncethin, Bridgend, at 19.05.
