Genomics to offer Welsh patients 'personalised' treatment

Personalised genetic treatment will play a key role in the future of health care, the Welsh Government has said.

It published its first genomic strategy on Thursday, after the UK outlined its own plans on Tuesday.

Dr Rachel Butler, head of the All Wales Genetics Laboratory, said developments now mean patients can receive "precision" genetic medicines, which are more targeted to their own illness.
