Growth cluster chances for Wales hailed by Alun Cairns

Welsh Secretary Alun Cairns has said the UK's industrial strategy means growth opportunities in Wales.

He said life science businesses along the north Wales corridor can benefit from an announcement which could create 800 jobs in Manchester.

There was also a potential for digital businesses in Cardiff and Newport to work cross-border with firms in Bristol.

Mr Cairns, on a visit to Airbus's cyber security operation in Newport, said Wales was "at the heart of this UK plan to ensure growth is more evenly spread".

Katherine Bennett, senior vice president at Airbus UK, said competitiveness was crucial for the business to continue to attract investment.
