Heavy rain continued to fall across south and mid Wales overnight.

The Met Office had forecast 20-30mm of rain to fall since Tuesday afternoon, with between 40-60mm possible over high ground such as the Brecon Beacons.

Motorists faced delays as the M48 Severn Bridge was closed westbound Tuesday evening due to strong winds but it had reopened by Wednesday morning.

A weather warning is in force until 09:00 GMT.
