Two more men have been arrested in connection with a shotgun and machete attack in Cardiff.

A Tremorfa man, 21, needed surgery for "life-changing injuries" and remains in hospital after the attack in Harris Avenue, Rumney, on Monday.

On Wednesday, a man, aged 32 from Ely, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and is still being held.

South Wales Police said two more arrests were made in the Grangetown area in the early hours of Thursday.

A 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and a 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder.

Police said the victim remains in a stable condition at the city's University Hospital of Wales.

Acting Det Ch Insp Stuart Wales said: "This is a fast-moving investigation and we are very grateful to members of the community for their continued support.

"There are four separate scenes across Grangetown and we are still appealing to anyone who has any information, but hasn't yet contacted us to do so.

"However insignificant they might think their information is, it could still provide some crucial evidence."
