Selective mutism: Bridgend schoolgirl is too anxious to talk

Happy Elsi Edwards loves chatting with family and friends and playing with her brother and sister.

But the five year old, from Bridgend, has an anxiety disorder called selective mutism - meaning she cannot talk to anyone else.

Her family want to raise awareness of the condition.

"She's unable to communicate with any adults outside the family home and that can include family members," said her mother Hannah.
