Two men have been charged with murdering a man in Holyhead.

David John Jones - known locally as DJ - died of "extensive head injuries" in Royal Stoke University Hospital on Thursday, police said.

The two suspects, aged 38 and 47, both from Holyhead, will appear at Llandudno Magistrates' Court on Monday.

North Wales Police has been granted a warrant of further detention at a special court in Mold for a woman also being held over the the death.

Officers appealing for witnesses to the assault in the Thomas Street area on 17 November to come forward.

'Life and soul'

In a tribute, the family of 58-year-old Mr Jones said they were "numb".

"He was always there for those who needed him and was the life and soul of our family. We will be forever lost without him."

The force is appealing for anyone who saw the assault on Mr Jones, which took place between 10:00 and 11:00 GMT to come forward.
