A motorcyclist who died in a crash with a van on Anglesey was a "happy-go-lucky" and "kind" grandfather, his family has said.

His family said he had missed his two grandchildren during lockdown.

North Wales Police has appealed for witnesses who saw the Mercedes Sprinter box van or blue motorbike.

Originally from Bangor in Gwynedd, Mr Robertshad been living in Rhosybol on Anglesey at the time of the crash, said his family.

His daughter Kirsty, who lives in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, said he "adored his two grandchildren and was never happier than when he was with them".

'Motorbike fascination'

"The Covid restrictions meant that sadly he had not been able to see them as much as he wanted to," she added.

The tribute from Mr Roberts' family said: "Since he was a youngster he had a fascination for motorbikes of all sorts and loved riding and tinkering with them.

"There was nothing he liked better than to discuss different bikes and how they performed.
