Newport: Man appears in court charged with murder

A man was found unresponsive at an address on Tewkesbury Walk, Newport
A man has appeared in court charged with murdering a 44-year-old man.
Jamie Garwood, 33, from Caerleon, Newport, appeared at Newport Magistrates' Court accused of murdering Richard Dean Thompson on 31 August.
Mr Thompson was initially taken to University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff after being found unresponsive at a property in Tewkesbury Walk, Newport.
He was moved to Grange University Hospital in Cwmbran, where he later died of his injuries.
Mr Garwood has been remanded in custody and will appear at Newport Crown Court on Tuesday.
